Benson Idahosa University recently received support from the United States of America through its National Institute of Health (NIH), to conduct a public health screening exercise for staff of the institution.

The National Institute of Health is an agency of the United States Department of Health and Human Services. It is the primary agency of the United States Government responsible for biomedical and health related research.

The Preliminary health screening exercise was carried out on three health parameters to see how they can create increased health related diseases.

These include;

  1. Blood sugar level for diabetes
  2. High blood pressure
  3. Cholesterol level

Over 500 persons benefited from the successful health screening exercise which also took place at two other location in Benin City besides, Benson Idahosa University.
