The Management of Benson Idahosa University on Tuesday, May 17th, paid a condolence visit to the Edaiken of Uselu, His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Ehenede, over the demise of his father, His Royal Majesty, Omo n’ Oba Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediawa.
Speaking on behalf of the University community, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ernest B. Izevbigie described the late Oba as a dynamic leader, one who will be greatly missed by all. He however wished the crown Prince a successful ascension to the throne, while pledging the University’s support to the Benin Monarch.
Responding, the Crown Prince expressed his appreciation to the University Management for the visit, noting that he is encouraged by the interesting statistics of the University, as presented by the Vice Chancellor.
Speaking further, he extended his gratitude to the Chancellor, Archbishop M.E Benson-Idahosa, saying that there is a close connection between the Royal family and the Chancellor. He however said that he is consoled by the pledge of support from the University, considering the challenges ahead in moving the Edo people to where God has destined for them.
