BIU Holds 11TH Convocation Service

Activities marking the 11th convocation ceremony of Benson Idahosa University began with a special ‘Convocation Service’ on Thursday, July 16th, 2015.

The service which was well attended, had RT. REV. Emmanuel Ihueze from CGMi Borikiri Headquarter as guest preacher. In his message entitled, “The Exceeding God”, the minister of God while congratulating the graduating students, enjoined them to see the exceeding greatness of God in their lives. According to him, God is about to open a new chapter for each and every one of them.

Bishop Ihueze therefore prayed that the Almighty God will do exceedingly, abundantly and above that which they (Graduating students) can imagine, noting that God has given to each and every one of them the ability needed for greatness.

Declaring the blessings of God over the graduating students the Chancellor and Archbishop of CGMi, Dr. M.E. Benson Idahosa charged the students to be the best that they have been destined to be, saying that God is more than able to do great and mighty things in their lives.

The convocation service featured drama presentation by the University Literary Forum titled, “From Nothingness to Eminence.

Earlier in the service, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ernest B. Izevbigie while congratulating the graduating students, charged them to go forth and make a change in the nation and the world at large. According to him, 49 students bagged First class honours degree, second class honours (upper division) is 270, Second class honours (Lower division) 414, while 50 students came out with Third class.

The Vice Chancellor noted that for the first time in the history of the University, a total of 871 students will be graduating.
