The management of Benson Idahosa University led by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ernest B.Izevbigie has recently paid a courtesy visit to the CEO of Ray Royal Construction Company, Bishop Mathew Okpebholo, at his residence in Uromi, Edo State.
The visit came a week after the ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the faculty of engineering which was made possible by the generous donation of 1billion naira to the institution by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. It is however worthy of note, that the Okpebholo foundation had pledged to tar 1killometer of the road leading to the university campus at Okha, and the Chancellor in her wisdom had named the road after the donor for his kind gesture.
Narrating how God asked him to embark on the road project, Bishop Okpewolo, told his august visitors that without access road to any community or place, development is inevitable. He stated that his company and team of engineers who are sourced from the best part of the world, though have done the first phase of the road, are poised to constructing roads which will span the test of time.
Earlier, the Vice Chancellor while expressing his appreciation on behalf of council and the university management, identified Bishop Mathew Okpewolo as a reference point, while recounting his immerse contributions to the institution over the years. He therefore prayed that God should continually shower his goodwill on the donor and his family, while calling on others to emulate the kind gesture of the philanthropist by partnering with the institution.
