Three BIU Students to Represent Varsity at World Science Conference in Israel

BIU Students to represent varsity at world science conference

Three students; Angabo Sarah, 400L, Department of Biochemistry, Aladinbuli Maryjane, 400L, Department of Microbiology and Nneli Chijioke Oghenetejiri, 400L, Department of Mathematics are among the best students selected to represent the university at the 2015 World Science Conference in Israel.

The students led by the leader of the delegation and Lecturer in the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, Dr. S.A. Enabulele, paid a courtesy  call on the Vice Chancellor before their departure for Israel on Tuesday August 11, 2015.

Receiving the delegates, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ernest B. Izevbigie congratulated them for coming out successful in the selection of the best students to represent the university at the conference. He charged the students to make good use of the opportunity made available to them by the Management of the Institution, adding that such International exposure will afford the students opportunity to meet with renowned Nobel Laureate Roger Kornberg, as well as interact with students from other Countries of the world.

The Vice Chancellor therefore enjoined the students to be good ambassadors of their Alma Mater.

Expressing his appreciation on behalf of the delegates, Dr. Enabulele thanked the University Management for the full financial sponsorship given to them, while praying that God will continue to uplift Benson Idahosa University.

The World Science Conference Israel (WSC) is an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Hebrew university of Jerusalem, Nobel Laureate Prof. Roger Kornberg, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.

It is aimed at bringing young students from all around the world for an intensive one week programme. During the conference, participants will have the opportunity of attending lectures, interact, and be inspired by Noble laureates of various fields, Wolf Prize and Field Medal Winners as well as other leading Scientist from around the world.

The BIU delegate departed for Israel on Tuesday August 11, 2015.
