The Acting Vice Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University, Prof. Sam Guobadia has said that preparation in prayer and knowledge acquisition are key to productive manifestation and excellent ministration. He made this known while delivering the maiden Convocation Lecture of the All Nations for Christ Bible Institute International (ANFCBII).

While delivering the lecture titled “Theology with Good Academic Flavour Enhances Ministerial Excellence,” he said that at the core of ministerial glorification and exaltation is great education. He added that one needs to acquire requisite skills to be able to affect the lives of people around them in secular and non-secular settings.

According to Prof. Guobadia, Daniel’s significance and understanding got exploded when he engaged himself academically.

He said: “Beyond the episcopal call to ministry and the zeal to do God’s work is the place of excellence. The end result of distinction which brings about ultimate fulfillment in life and ministry. Two Scriptures readily come to mind in this context. In Daniel 6:3, the Bible says that Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him and the King thought to set him over the whole realm.  We got the secret of Daniel’s ministerial excellence later in Daniel 9:2 when he wrote that: … I Daniel understood by books

The University don urged the graduands to have a personal vision for their lives.

“Your personal vision is how you commit to living your life; a life of meaning for yourself and others. What I like to call the optimization of life. It involves the integration of your abilities, goals, interests, and values. It also provides a guide for the decisions you make, allows you to think long term and balance out your lifestyle. While your vision is an end, your mission is the means to that end,” he said.

He mentioned that Benson Idahosa University has started plans to work out collaboration between ANFCBII and the University – similar to what obtains between the Emmanuel College of Theology and the University of Ibadan; the Redeemer University and their Bible College & Redeem School of Mission programmes.

He added that Benson Idahosa University can now satisfy the NUC requirements of 25 years existence and 15 years established relationship.

Prof. Guobadia commended the pioneering efforts of Archbishop Benson Andrew Idahosa for setting up the ministerial institution of monumental impact. He also saluted Archbishop Margaret Benson Idahosa for expanding the vision with improved programmes and magnificent structures. He further commended the past and current leadership, management, faculty and indeed the students for keeping the fire alive.

The Vice Chancellor of Benson Idahosa University, Prof. Sam Guobadia has enjoined the newly admitted students of the institution to desist from all forms of misconduct and embrace the virtues of Godliness and excellence, to excel in their academic pursuit.

Speaking at the Matriculation ceremony, the Vice Chancellor urged the new students to be law abiding and shun any form disobedience towards their lecturers and their fellow students.

“I wish to assure you of adequate security on both of our campuses. We, however, plead with you not to hesitate to report any suspicious activities to the Dean of Student Affairs, Security Officers or indeed any staff of the University for immediate response.

He explained that the institution has lived up to expectation since it was established, adding that discipline and academic excellence with Godliness has been their watchwords.

Furthermore, he said the University will continue to focus on its core purpose which is to Change Nigeria. This, he said, would be achieved by instilling the vision and mission of the institution in its students.
